The Backward Class Youth Relief Committee (BCYRC), established in 1990, stands as a monumental testament to the power of structured philanthropy and educational reform. At its core, the Trust was forged with a singular, profound objective; the socio-economic and intellectual up-liftment of students from marginalized communities and the underserved rural hinterlands of Maharashtra.
The architect of this noble mission late Shri Bhausaheb Govindrao Mulak was a statesman of unparalleled distinction. Serving as a Minister for the Government of Maharashtra and the Mayor of Nagpur Municipal Corporation, he brought a wealth of administrative acumen and a deep-seated humanitarian pulse to the organization. As a visionary who recognized that education is the ultimate equalizer, he steered the Trust away from mere charity towards the establishment of robust, sustainable Institutions of conventional and professional excellence.
Since that transformative inception, the Foundation Society has remarkably expanded its academic horizons transcending its humble beginnings to become a titan in the Higher Education sector. Today, the Trust’s influence spans an exhaustive spectrum of disciplines, including Engineering, Medicine, Pharmacy, Teacher Education and Higher Educational Institutions (HEIs). By catering to a vast demographic across the Vidarbha region, the Trust has effectively decentralized quality education, bringing global standards to the doorsteps of the rural masses.
Under the benevolent guidance and spiritual tutelage of the sitting Chairperson, Smt. Sumanmala B. Mulak, the Trust continues to lead by example. Her leadership serves as a stabilizing force, ensuring that the foundational principles of equity and excellence remain inviolate even in the face of contemporary global challenges.
The momentum of the Trust found a new catalyst in Shri Rajendraji Mulak, the Secretary of the Trust and a former Minister of State, Government of Maharashtra. Having assumed the mantle of leadership from his illustrious father, Shri Rajendraji Mulak has been working as a dynamic and an enterprising force. His tenure has been marked by a selfless devotion to social service and an accelerated expansion into diverse educational frontiers. By prioritizing the empowerment of rural youth, he has ensured that the Trust remains a progressive vehicle for regional development.
Today, this storied legacy of service and academic brilliance is being propelled forward by the youthful exuberance and modern perspective of Shri Yashraj B. Mulak. Under this multi-generational leadership, the Backward Class Youth Relief Committee remains not just a Trust, but a living tradition of excellence, committed to carving a brighter, more equitable future for the youth of India.
